Je delo potrebno? // Is work necessary?

Prav zares ne delajo niฤesar, le so, kar so.

Is work necessary?

I invite you to see the life of other creatures on Earth. What do these creatures ‘do’? They don’t really do anything, they just are what they are. Everything is given to them and they don’t have to build or achieve anything, except for an annual nest made of dry heather, a cave or burrow in the ground for roosting and wintering, and even these are often already there and just need to be occupied. Hunting and gathering food can also be called work, but it is not, because it is part of the necessity of survival, which is provided by Life and not by a creature that follows instinct.

I don’t know how many times I’ve watched the movie Avatar and dreamed of ever experiencing the way these people lived. The whole community lived under a giant tree, which twisted from its roots into a wide trunk and created a path through which they could reach the canopy a few 100m high, where they usually whistled to their winged friends to ride them and fly with them to the heights. They didn’t build a home, they just felt the pleasant glow of the mighty tree and chose it as their refuge. They didn’t grow food, they just walked into the forest and food fell from the trees. They had no inventions, nothing that wasn’t alive and responsive, even the beds wrapped around them and protected them when they entered them.

Everything in Life is designed to serve itself, the Living. People could direct all their efforts, instead of ‘work’, making dead things, transforming the environment, growing food and other ‘patchwork’ of the disappeared abundance of life, into spiritual self-expression, which we are just getting to know. Humans are creators of real worlds that can build on existing natural wonders! Today, the forest no longer feeds us, but we could direct our energy to stop cutting down and return to the conditions in which the forest could once again feed us without tractors, pesticides, trade, and other lifeless inventions. But before this can happen, we ourselves must become natural and yearn for the freedom known only to birds, who, during their easy creation in the carefree heights, catch something to eat while passing by the tree.

I am not afraid of anything, so I remember myself, Marjeta ล umrada
